Kay Irish Tenor Banjo

Photo for Ad 119735

Vintage 4 string 17 fret Kay irish tenor banjo with resonator easily removable.

Previous owner swapped machine heads with friction pegs and stays surprisingly well in tune. I don't recommend switching between alternate tunings because of friction pegs. I have it in Irish tuning which sounds best to me personally but should hold a tune in standard, Chicago, plectrum, or open tunings depending on gauge.

Nut has a small chip but does not affect height or space (see pics). I thought these all come with a plastic nut but it looks and feels like it might be bone the more I look at it.

Has a little rash on back of neck and resinator
Amrest is a little bent (see pics)

I impulsively bought it for a deal i couldn't refuse as a substitute for the mandolin as I play 5 string banjo for a living but my injured thumbs can no longer handle the high tension on a short scale of a mandolin. Lots of fun to play just dont have much use for it.

Make me an offer
I don't expect any more than $100
Trades or partial trades considered but prefer to sell
Only interested in harmonicas and travel banjos like a back yard banjo or maybe a saga pony banjo

Pickup only
I also have other traditional folk instruments like a mid missouri mandolin and harmonicas for sale
