1940s Framus "Black Rose Baby Deluxe" Mandolin

Photo for Ad 133810

This has to be one of the rarest and coolest looking mandolins ever made. Created by Framus in Germany, this "Black Rose Baby Deluxe" has an exceptionally wide, and unusually deep body.
The spruce top, maple back & sides body measures 12.5“ wide at the lower bout and 2.75“ deep. Unusual too are the white peg head, the curved bridge matching its radiused fingerboard, engraved tailpiece and unique decorated tuning buttons. The instrument is finished in the popular dark sunburst on the top, back and sides. The unusual design with two "cat’s-eye" sound holes and large cutaway, combined with a highly decorated fretboard, contributes to its striking appearance. The neck is straight, slim and fast, making for quick fingering.

$1,295.00 with original hard case
