Murphy Method Releases Updated And Improved Beginning Banjo DVDs, Newly Recorded in HD

Winchester, Va. — The Murphy Method’s New Beginning Banjo DVDs have been updated, expanded, and re-recorded in High Definition (HD), now with three volumes of Beginning Banjo DVDs.

Each song includes the vamp chords and an ending lick. Taught by Murphy Henry with son Chris Henry on guitar. All songs are taught by ear and there is no tablature or written music. Murphy has also tweaked the order of the songs for ease of learning.

New Beginning Banjo 1, New Beginning Banjo 2, and New Beginning Banjo 3 replace the original Beginning Banjo Volume 1 and 2, and incorporate some of the material from Banjo for Misfits.

New to these Beginning Volumes is the addition of Murphy's novel idea for teaching beginners to improvise—the "roly polys," which enable even rank beginners to jam. Her own Tip Jar Jammers paved the way for this new development and have proved that it works.

As always, our aim at the Murphy Method is to help students get started on banjo more easily. For four decades we have worked hard to make our own method of teaching by ear better and easier. These new DVDs bring you the best of what we have learned—from our own students—about teaching over the years. The HD quality picture and better sound now match the clarity of the instruction.

New Beginning Banjo 1, 2, and 3 are available on DVD or by download.
