    A picture would really help. The taper on pegs can vary. Sometimes you have to use a tapered reamer and fit the hole to the peg. If you can get the old peg out and measure both ends of the taper...

    Several banjo ukulele brands employed the "F" holes on the back of the resonator. That is a nice feature.

    Nice Banjo. Banjo straps can be the metal snaps (I don't like them either), they can tie on like a Cradle brand strap. Or they can have a loop on each end for fastening to the tension bracket...

    I have used most of the above that Dave mentions and also (gDGCD). Three finger style, resonator bluegrass banjo.
