I've got too many banjos (if there is such a thing). So I've decided to let one or two go. This is a very nice 1930's Kel Kroyden double conversion. I've known this banjo for many years and acquired it when the owner passed away 3 years ago. As I remember, Marty Lanham (Nashville Guitar Company) did the conversion and built the neck (he built the neck for sure). The neck is a straight grain maple neck with a black finish (like the original tenor neck). The original two tab tuners were taken from the tenor neck for use on the 5 string neck. A second coordinator rod was added, and an old Presto tailpiece was installed. The rim was turned and now has a Blaylock New Era flathead ring. Spikes at 7 and 9. I put a NOS Pre-EPA Remo head on it recently. Frets are in fine shape. Original hooks/nut, one piece flange, resonator, and rim. The flange is quite flat with only the slightest pull on each side of the neck. It's been like this for years with no change. Call and I'll be happy to talk with you about it. I will also include the rather rough original tenor case and the original tenor neck, which is in fine shape. 48 hour approval. If you return it, I expect you to cover shipping both ways. Asking $3450.
